History of R.M. Palmer Candy
The R.M. Palmer Candy Company is a family business that dates back to 1878. Back then, a fire destroyed the home of Edward Cook Palmer, who promptly decided to take his family and move to Sioux City, Iowa. Once there, he bought a grocery operation and began the business. The company was passed down through generations, and in the 1990s, the owners decided to diversify and make sweet confectionery. In 1923, the very first Bing candy bar was made by the business and was seriously popular, cementing the business’ place as sweet makers. And the rest—as they say—is history!
