Christmas Nostalgia Chocolate Advent Calendar
Description
The Advent calendar originated early in the 19th century, when children would draw a chalk line on a door to count down the days until Christmas. The tradition evolved, becoming more elaborate, sometimes by hanging a religious picture on a wall for each day of December, or lighting 24 candles around a large structure known as an Advent clock.
The printed Advent calendar with which we are familiar today became popular around the turn of the 20th century, and it’s exactly the detailed Victorian style of the time period that is reflected in the beautiful artwork of this Nostalgia Advent Calendar. Each hidden window holds fine German chocolates in festive holiday shapes. We can’t think of a tastier way to count down to Christmas!
