These are super fun and just the right size. The nubblies feel really intersting in your mouth, and the insides are just kind of like granulated sugar. The colors aren't different flavors - it's all just sugar candy, tastes like unflavored rock candy. However, the sweetness level is PERFECT, not too overpowering, not bland at all. A very solid and fun candy.

Gift for my daughter and friends who had heard about the candy but could not find it in any local stores

Konpieto fits into furidashi for tea ceremony. Taste also appropriate. No longer available in our markets.

Its just sugar. One thing that the product description lies about is the "assortment of flavors". It 05-have different colors but they all taste the same, like sugar. I only really got it because I like rock candy and because it's Japanese.

These sugary candies are basically the same as rock candy in composition. Instead of allowing the sugar to crystallize on a sting or stick, the sugar solution is put through a centrifuge. This is what causes the spherical, studded appearance. They are very cute and colorful! These konpeito are a bit larger than I am used to, which makes them difficult to crunch into. It is better to simply suck on
